Inspiring children and adults to enjoy plants and gardening that can give them a healthy hobby for their whole lives. Capture their interest in growing edible fruits and vegetables, and our aim is to encourage young people's understanding of the environment and the need for sustainability.
Prescribing Kindness is our motto at Bless Community Support, and sometimes people just need to be heard or meet people with similar experiences to themselves. We know that dealing with Cancer, Miscarriage, Baby Loss, Dementia, or Alzheimer’s can be a scary and lonely experience, but our groups are here to support you at this difficult time.
Meaningful friendships and lasting connections flourish in welcoming spaces, and a sense of belonging is invaluable at any age. That’s why we offer a diverse range of structured activities and community gatherings designed to bring people together. From engaging children’s Eco Allotment to social afternoons featuring bingo and tea for older adults, our programs cater to all generations.
In March 2020, the UK faced an unprecedented emergency crisis as the government announced a national lockdown in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The sudden restrictions left many elderly and vulnerable individuals isolated, unable to access essential resources such as food, medicine, and support. Recognising the urgent need for action, a dedicated group of volunteers formed the Covid Crisis Project, a community-led initiative that provided immediate relief to those most affected.
During this critical time, the Covid Crisis Project successfully supplied over 3,000 freshly prepared meals to those in need, distributed vital food parcels, and delivered prescriptions to parishioners who were unable to leave their homes. Through these efforts, it became clear that our local area lacked sufficient community services and long-term support systems, leaving many individuals without access to essential care and connection.
Bless Community Support is a registered charity based in Upton and Hemsworth, extending our services to Hemsworth and the surrounding areas of West Yorkshire. Dedicated to fostering well-being, education, and social inclusion.
