Meet Geraldine

Geraldine shares a huge amount of compassion and dedication to our Friendship Memory group for people living with Dementia where we also hosting our Afternoon Tea & Quiz. Having worked in care homes and hospitality her skills and kindness shine through to everyone she meets. Geraldine hasn't had an easy ride, suffering with depression after the loss of her daughter in an RTA and the subsequent end to her marriage, when we were faced with lockdown Geraldine found herself feeling lost and isolated. Contacting Bless back in 2021 Geraldine found her way back to herself and attends our group crochet class as a hobby and provides a great support twice weekly as a volunteer.

Meet Nicola

Nicola joined Bless as a volunteer in 2021 Nicola's story is one of strength and determination. With a background of working as a foster parent, pre-assessment trainer in Social Care and working in education with primary age and special needs children, Nicola found herself in the unthinkable position of being told that she had a brain tumour. This in turn lead to her having to give up her much loved role in teaching and left her feeling like she no purpose and direction in life. Nicola approached Bless back in 2021 and since then has been providing support to women via our support group Our Angels which provides a shared group space for all who have lost babies through Miscarriage, stillbirth or IVF. This Facebook Group Community for Our Angels now has almost 900 members. Nicola also kindly bakes weekly scones for our Afternoon Tea Group. Since getting involved with Bless Nicola has enjoyed being part of the team again and is now supporting the community and wider areas.
