Celebrating Mental Health Awareness Week at Bless – A Week of Connection, Creativity & Community Care

At Bless Community Support, supporting mental wellbeing isn’t just something we talk about once a year – it’s the heart of everything we do, every single day. That’s why we’re proud to celebrate Mental Health Awareness Week (12–18 May 2025) with a schedule full of meaningful sessions that reflect our commitment to nurturing minds, lifting spirits and strengthening connections.

Across our six-day-a-week programme, every group we run plays a part in supporting emotional wellbeing, reducing isolation, and providing a safe space for people to come just as they are.

Here’s what we’ve got going on throughout Mental Health Awareness Week – and every week:

🌿 Monday – Memory Friendship Group (Upton)
A joyful session filled with smiles, therapeutic movement, music, and laughter – open to those living with dementia and their carers. It’s all about connection, comfort and finding joy in the moment.

💖 Tuesday – Women’s Wellbeing Group (Hemsworth)
Our weekly space for women to unwind, connect and take time for themselves. Each session blends mindfulness, peer support, guided meditation, creativity and a good cuppa.

🧘‍♀️ Wednesday – Morning Meditation (Hemsworth)
A peaceful hour dedicated to calming the mind, easing stress and reconnecting with the body through gentle, accessible meditation practices.

🎨 Wednesday Afternoon – Crafting & Company (Hemsworth)
Freedom to create, chat and laugh – this group is perfect for sparking imagination, trying new things and sharing time with others in a relaxed, friendly space.

🧶 Tuesday Afternoons, Thursday Evenings & Friday Mornings – Crochet Groups (Upton & Hemsworth)
Whether you’re a seasoned stitcher or learning for the first time, our crochet groups are creative havens to make, mend and share – one loop at a time.

Thursday Afternoon – Afternoon Tea & Quiz (Upton)
A feel-good gathering for laughter, conversation and a little friendly competition. A great way to beat loneliness, especially for our over 60s.

🧘 Friday Morning – Second Weekly Meditation (Hemsworth)
For those who need another dose of midweek calm – relax and restore your energy to round off the week.

🎵 Friday Afternoon – Memory Friendship Group (Hemsworth)
A smaller group that blends music, games and conversation – offering a safe space for over 60s to enjoy a trip down memory lane and some lighthearted fun.

🌱 Saturday – Little Buds Family Allotment Sessions
Fresh air, nature and family connection on our eco allotment – an uplifting session that brings generations together to plant, explore and grow.

From mindfulness to memory support, crafting to community cuppas – every moment shared here supports someone’s mental health journey.

If you’d like to get involved – whether by joining one of our groups or offering a helping hand through volunteering – we’d love to hear from you.
